Power GenerationMixing Solutions have historically served the power generation markets in several phases of the power generation process, most notably in coal slurry mixers and in the flue gas desulphurisation process. Whether the power generation facility is a large, vertically integrated coal-fired plant, or a smaller municipal installation, Mixing Solutions equipment supports the diverse demands of the power generation process. The range of our scope of work is, literary, enormous. Some coal slurry applications have involved tanks that were 26.5m high and 38m in diameter, with the demand to provide necessary uniformity of tank discharge over a 6,000,000 gallon range of working volume per tank. Special design features of these types of applications are enormous as well, such as the practical impossibility of rotating a mixing impeller submerged in a bed of coal that has settled for even a matter of hours. By designing a two-stage impeller system in which the top impeller can be disengaged from the lower impeller to allow use of the upper impeller only to achieve re-suspension of the coal, Mixing Solutions was able to solve this problem Similar creativity is used in our flue gas desulphurisation mixer designs. The absorber tower is the core of any wet flue gas scrubber system. The actual chemistry and mechanical arrangement of the absorber is particular to the individual scrubber, but the one thing common to all second-generation wet limestone FGD processes is the forced oxidation of sulfite to produce a commercial grade gypsum. Mixing Solutions years of experience in solid suspension and oxidation processes provides you with the perfect solution to your absorber mixer needs. Also, because there are numerous sumps and slurry tanks requiring mixers, our vast experience ancillary to the flue gas desulphurisation process assures that your entire system will perform at an optimal level. |
