APPLICATIONS: Fixed-Angle Mixers are required to meet one or more of the following duties:

1. Homogeneity
To maintain homogeneity of refinery finished or intermediate products or chemical plant feed stocks to ensure uniform specification. This demands complete movement throughout the tank with bottom to top "turnover" as well as circulation around the tank, to ensure that the media at the bottom, middle and top are uniform. This may also apply to crude oil storage in refinery tanks feeding direct to the process units.

2. Blending
To mix two or more different components to obtain an homogeneous blend in a specific amount of time to defined requirements demands complete bottom to top "turnover"

3. Temperature Uniformity
To aid heat transfer while heating or cooling or to maintain temperature uniformity complete fluid motion, bottom to top "turnover" would normally be required. Positioning of the mixers relative to the heating elements is also important to obtaining the desired process results.

These duties only require the installation of fixed-Angle Mixers. There are two systems that can be employed: Mixing from "Stratified" tank conditions or mixing during "Pump Up". For example, a mixing duty may require a 45kW mixers to perform the required blend in 12 hours from a stratified tank condition, but if this same mixer was to operate during the final 6 hours of "Pump Up", homogeneity could be completed within 6 hours of filling. Similarly if a blend time of 12 hours from completion of "Pump Up" could be tolerated, it is possible that a 22kW mixer would be suitable. Minimum power requirements must be maintained. First mixer must be positioned 22.5° clockwise from inlet and any additional mixers must also be 22.5° clockwise to ensure inlet stream has proper additive effect with the propeller jet stream.
